One of my favorite commercials is an oldie but a goodie… “How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie Pop?” We all remember the Hoot Owl that sat on the tree with his graduation cap on. I bet many of you are still wondering? I know I am! I just do what the Hoot Owl does – one, two-hoo, three and then CRUNCH! Gone! I appreciate his demonstration!

This question also poses itself well with your advertising efforts. Many people ask me, “How much should I advertise?” This is a good question but there is never just ONE answer for everyone. There are many factors you can study within your business plan to help you identify your advertising needs.

Here are a few questions to start with in regards to your audience and how big your reach efforts extend:

  1. Who needs to know about my business?
  2. How many of those ‘Who‘ do I need to reach?
  3. In that group of fantastic ‘Who‘, what do they use most to see advertising? Internet? Print Marketing? Social Media?
  4. What about my business do I want to communicate to this group of ‘Who?’

By asking about ‘Who‘ you will discover an answer on ‘How.’ You’ve shown a great deal of effort in recognizing their needs so now you can form a creative piece that speaks to them specifically. This will give you a clue to the scale of your advertising effort and how to capture their attention and turn them into future clients.

I offer creative marketing and strong visual design that speaks to your audience with great purpose and memorable impact. It takes effort to reach those people but the effort is well planned and will be prosperous to your business.
