Hired to design a NEW brand logo, I worked with executive leadership to design a brand utilizing symbols of speed, determination, and friendliness all with a polished look. The roadrunner was the top choice showcasing a well known local animal with top qualities that visualized the mission of the company.

Nalu Koa is an authentic, Maui native, bath and body products derived from nature’s best. Maui authentic, Karen Oakley Designs produced their entire line of bath and body product labels including 19 products of gels, creams, body washes, fragrance mists, sunscreen and bug repellent.

BRAND PROMOTION, MARKET POSITIOING, PRODUCT MARKETING
808 Clothing was founded in 2006 with the goal of creating a clothing line that would transport its wearers to the tropical paradise of Maui, no matter where they were. A family-run business, 808 clothing can be found every Saturday at the Maui Swapmeet, where it all began. In the years since, the company has expanded and now has a presence at a craft fair in Ka’anapali every Friday at the Westin KOR. Customers can also visit the 808 Clothing store fronts in Kihei to purchase locally produced, high quality t-shirts and hats. We look forward to seeing you on Maui!

OSU Nutrition Infographic
GRAPHIC DESIGN AND PUBLISHING
Hired by OSU Science and Nutrition department, I create a customized infographic melding together the use of bold coloring, strong headlines, graphs and bullet points that help low literacy (and additional readership levels) focus on understanding their diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes and the expected management for their lifestyle. The overall look increased the opportunity for sharing and cross posting with others diabetic advocacy groups.

Anne Pledger approached me to collaborate her biography manuscript about her aunt, Hallie Earle, M.D., for publishing and release on the day the Hallie Earle Hall (dormitory) was opened on Baylor University campus, Waco, TX. Memorializing Dr. Earle being the first female physician in Texas, this building is home to more than 350 male and female members of the Science & Health LLC. I provided full layout, jacket design, and print/production for private release. This book can be found in the Texas Collection and University Archives at Baylor University.

Bill Branson, contract business strategist, hired me to design his logo, marketing collateral, and promotional information. Located in Gig Harbor, WA, we developed a year long contract for design and online market positioning. All work was done via online and completed with great success.

Two Deaths and an Arrest is one of two books self-published by Lon D. Oakley Jr. Two Deaths and an Arrest is a culmination of testimonies, eye witness accounts, and recollections from Adamson High School (and others from Oak Cliff High) faculty and students who traveled to various locations to see President John F. Kennedy and the First Lady, Jackie Kennedy. Stories follow the process downtown along the Presidental motorcade route on Stemmons Expressway and on to Parkland Hospital. This project included full layout, design, jacket design, publishing consultation and assistance. ISBN 978-0-9898420-1-3
